Dhruv Jurel has revealed the ‘stubborn side’ of Yashasvi Jaiswal who scored a century in the first test of the India’s tour of England 2025.

The BCCI has shared a video an inside look at the dressing room with a candid chat between Yashasvi Jaiswal and wk-batter Dhruv Jurel. In the video, Dhruv Jurel has congratulated Jaiswal for scoring a century on foreign soil.

In it, Jurel has revealed Jaiswl was ‘stubborn’ that he had to score runs in England even during the India A tour before the series, which was the quality both on and off the field, that set him apart from the rest.

Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s knock has helped the side to set a foundation as India scored 359/3 at Stumps. He hit 16 fours and a six and continued to bat despite suffering from severe cramps in both his hands.

He continue the pattern of scoring three-figure runs in his first Test in a country he did the same in the West Indies and then Perth in Australia in the last Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

“When we were playing for India A, you told me you just have to score runs in England no matter what,” said Jurel in the video.

“Even when the ball was moving a lot, you wanted the same challenge in the nets. I think that stubbornness is what makes you different. I’ve seen it since we were kids. But tell everyone what you’re like off the field when there’s no match,” he added.

To which Yashasvi Jaiswal has said, “You tell them!” before adding, “I don’t do much. When I need to be serious, I stay serious. I focus on my preparation and try to keep my mind calm. That really helps me.”

“Whenever I come here, I just want to give my best for my team and my country. I really enjoy practicing alone and preparing myself. I try to make sure every ball I face in practice helps me when I’m in tough situations. You know this too that there are so many moments when we’re under pressure,” Jaiswal further said.

Jaiswal feels that two games against England Lions, India ‘A’ played an intra-squad one against the first 11 has helped him a lot to study the conditions.

“Harshit Rana and Bumrah bhai were bowling really well, I wasn’t scoring runs easily but I kept playing. That gave me a lot of confidence and belief that I can survive and get through tough phases,” Jaiswal concluded.
