The Delhi Capitals lost back-to-back wickets in the top and middle order during the WPL 2025 against RCB played on February 17.
After putting to bat first, Delhi lost the wicket of the opener Shafali Verma for a golden duck. The regained balance in the match with 55 runs in the powerplay. Meg Lanning and Jemimah Rodrigues forged a 59-run partnership for the second wicket.
With the dismissal of Rodrigues for 34 runs, Delhi lost wickets at regular intervals. By the end of the 14th over, DC women lost 6 wickets for 106 runs.
Lanning and Sutherland were dismissed for 17 and 19 respectively while Marizanne Kapp scored 12 runs before dismissed by Ekta Bisht.
Ekta Bisht went on to pick the wicket of Jess Jonasses for 1 run leaving Sarah Bryce and Shikha Pandey in the field.

Last time both clashed in the finals of the 2024 stage where RCB Women secured 8 wicket win to claim their maiden WPL title. After meeting five times in the tournament, Delhi has the edge over the RCB with 4-1 lead.
While speaking at the toss, Smriti Mandhana said, “Would like to field first. Dew has been a big factor in last couple of games. We’ve seen the wicket play better after first 6-7 overs.”
“Few things we could work on in terms of bowling and fielding. We had two good practice sessions. WPL isn’t like a long tournament that you have time to come back. Have to start well. One change for us. Ekta comes in.”
