Australia’s wicketkeeper Beth Mooney has been named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for January 2025 while Jomel Warrican has clinched the award in Men’s category.
Australia stormed to Ashes victory over England, ICC women’s Player of the Month, she displayed some firepower across ODI and T20I encounters.
A subdued start to the series was overturned with a half-century in the third in Hobart. Stuttering to 59 for four, Mooney resisted a resurgent England with 50 from balls, setting the platform for the home side to post 308 from thier 50 overs and secure the ODI sweep.
Mooney consolidated her position as the top ranked batter striking 213 runs at a blistering strike rate of 146.89.

Beth Mooney overcomes the West Indies’ Karishma Ramharack and U19 Women’s T20 World Cup winner Gongadi Trisha to seal the win and ensures a second successive win for an Australian player after Annabel Sutherland was honoured in December.
