    Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin expressed his delight at Rohit Sharma‘s century and claimed that India will win the Champions Trophy 2025.

    His statement comes after Rohit Sharma’s blazing hundred in the second ODI match of England’s tour of India 2025 in Cuttack. The Indian captain roared during the 2nd ODI England in Cuttack as he scored his 32nd ODI century.

    Rohit Sharma scored a hundred in 76 balls and his 119-run knock included 12 fours and 7 sixes as India won the match by four wickets in the end. Azharuddin whish Rohit all success in the Champions Trophy and felt the Indian captain’s form had come back at the right time.

    “I wish him all the best for the Champions Trophy, If Rohit Sharma clicks in the Champions Trophy, there is no doubt about us winning it. His form has come at the right time,” said Azharuddin.

    Rohit Sharma went on to past Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most runs as an opener for India in all three formats of the game. He said that Rohit didn’t give up and continued to keep going despite runs deserting him and congratulated the India captain on breaking Tendulkar’s record.

    “He is a class player, the runs were deserting him, he kept going on yesterday. I heard he played really well yesterday and records are meant to be broken.”

    “I congratulate him on breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record and I want to wish him best for the Champions Trophy,” said Azharuddin.

    There were a lot of people questioning Rohit’s position in the team, with some telling him to retire. Azharudding said that retirement is a call that Rohit has to make as he is someone who knows the intensity of the game.

    “It’s up to Rohit to decide. A player who plays the game knows how intense it is,” said Rohit.

    India will be playing their final ODI against England in Narendra Modi Stadium on February 12. This will be the final match for Rohit Sharma impress ahead of Champions Trophy in Dubai, where India will have their first match against Bangladesh.
