As India prepares for a high-octane clash in the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, the visitors’ side has suffered a major blow as Arshdeep Singh’s bandaged arm could complicate their pace strategy amid growing uncertainty around Jasprit Bumrah‘s availability.
With yet to make his test debut, Arshdeep Singh was spotted with his bowling arm bandaged during the team’s training session on July 17.
The development comes at time on India is weighing their combinations carefully, having slipped 2-1 in the five match series after a defeat at Lord’s.
With Shubman Gill-led side is looking to level the series, his injury scare will make tough for team’s combinations at Manchester.
India has rotated their pace attack between Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur and Akash Deep during the first three matches of the series.
However, the workload management expected a role play in the leadup for the fourth test, especially concerning Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh was seen as a potential inclusion for Manchester.

India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has revealed his injury extent.
“He took a ball while he was bowling — tried to stop it — and it’s just a cut. We have to see how bad the cut is. The medical team took him off to see a doctor, and obviously, whether he needs stitches or not is going to be important for our planning over the next few days,” said ten Doeschate.
Despite consistent performances in white-ball cricket, the IPL and a productive stint in county cricket.
The Indian camp has not issued any official update regarding his condition. But with the match only days away, Arshdeep’s status will be closely monitored.
The fourth match of the five match series will be played between July 23 and 27 at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester.
