Abhishek Sharma Reveals the Secret Behind His Aggressive Batting in IPL 2024

In the ongoing IPL 2024 season, with his aggressive batting attack, Abhishek Sharma has implanted fears in the minds of the bowlers. Playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, in IPL 2024, the left-hander scored 467 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 209.42.

Abhishek Sharma played a key role in their team victory against Punjab Kings yesterday. Sharma scored a crucial 66 of just 28 deliveries and laid a strong foundation for the team after his opening partner Head was dismissed for a golden duck.

His 66 includes five boundaries and 6 maximums. His 235.71 strike rate bagged him the Player of the Match award after SRH chased the target of 215 with five balls remaining.

His fifty came off 21 balls, the slowest of the three half-centuries he has made this season, summing up his belligerence. Abhishek’s previous two fifties came off 16 balls versus Mumbai Indians and 19 balls against Lucknow Super Giants.

“It’s a matter of time for any batsman. My days are going good so I should utilize it for my team. I wanted to contribute as the target was big today. I think I have told this before, during SMAT I was clear how I was going to play and dominate (during IPL)”, he said.

Abhishek Sharma hugely praised Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting coach Brain Lara for his explosive batting in IPL 2024.

“He (Lara) was our coach as well, have done some work with him, he’s in touch. That’s helping me now. Just waiting for the loose balls, I am going hard against them and trying to put them (bowlers) under pressure”.

The left-hander also thanked the pitch curator and groundsmen for preparing the pitches to suit their style.

“I was talking to Nitish, the more I was waiting it was getting easier for me. I was ready for that (playing against Harshal). I was trying to take a single but fortunately got a boundary (one of the balls.) I want to thank the crowd, special mention to pitch curator and groundsmen. They have given pitches that have suited our style”, he added.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Kolkata Knight Riders on May 21 to play the Qualifier 1 of the season at Ahmedabad. The winner of the match will advance to the Final while the loser will have a chance to make it correct.

The loser of Qualifier 1 will face the winner of the Eliminator(RCB vs RR) on May 24 in Chepuk Stadium to play Qualifier 2 which will decide the second team for the final game.
