AB de Villiers takes back his Virat’s Second Child comment

Virat Kohli has withdrawn from recently concluded Test matches in England’s tour of India due to a family emergency. Amid doubts about the return of the player for the third test, AB de Villiers dropped a bombshell claiming that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child.

While speaking on the YouTube live, while asked about the Virat Kohli, he said, “All I know is he is fine. He is spending a bit of time with his family, that is the reason he is missing the first two Test matches. I am not going to confirm anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is happy,”

“Let me just see what he said. I just want to at least give you a little bit of love,” he added.

“So I wrote to him ‘Been wanting to check in with you for a while now biscuits. How are you?’. He said ‘Just need to be with my family right now’. Then I said I am doing well.

“Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him. If you are not genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him, but he has made the right decision,” he added.

The sources have confirmed that Virat will be missing the third and fourth test also which is set to play in Rajkot and Ranchi.

Virat Kohli has played 113 Test matches at the time of writing and amassed 8848 runs with a high score of 254* with an average of 49.15. He has 29 test centuries in hand and has several records across all formats.

On this occasion, de Villiers who shares a friendly bond with Virat, has claimed that the information about Virat’s second child is not true.

“Family comes first and then Cricket. I had made a big mistake on my YouTube channel. That information was wrong and not true at all.”

I think whatever’s best for Virat’s family comes first. No one knows what’s happening there, all I can do is wish him well. Whatever the reason for his break, I hope he can come back stronger, better, and fresh from this,” said de Villiers.

India is yet to announce their squad for the upcoming tests. There is been a delay in the squad reveal, but it is expected to be announced soon.

With one victory each, India and England will be playing their third Test starting on February 15 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
