    Ruturaj Gaikwad Breaks Silence After MS Dhoni Replaces Him as CSK Captain

    The CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has given a statement after getting ruled out of the ongoing IPL 2025 due to an elbow injury. Gaikwad will be missing the remainder of the season and MS Dhoni has been named as the Captain for the side.

    Lately, on Thursday, CSK uploaded a video of Ruturaj Gaikwad on social media where he expressed his disappointment for missing out on the season. He added that he hopes things change under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

    “Hello everyone, Ruturaj this side. Really gutted to be missing future part of the IPL due to an unfortunate elbow injury. But, thank you for your support until now.”

    “Yes, we have been struggling a while, you know now that a young wicketkeeper leading the team, hopefully, things will change. I am gonna be there with the team, really support them,” Ruturaj said.

    On the eve of the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, CSK coach Stephen Fleming confirmed that Gaikwad has a fracture on his left elbow and cannot play further in the 18th season.

    “Ruturaj Gaikwad ruled out the IPL due to a fracture on his elbow. MS Dhoni to captain in the remaining games” told Stephen Fleming to reporters.

    Despite having solid start with a win against Mumbai Indians, they suffered four consecutive loses against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings and secured 9th position in the IPL 2025 points table.

    Heading into a critical game, in which a loss could spell more trouble for CSK, the home team is taking some advantage impressive show in the last match against Punjab Kings which they lost by 18 runs after being set a stiff target of 219 in Mullanpur.

    However, the Chennai based franchise will be looking to return to the winning ways during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders played on April 11 at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
