Delhi Capitals batter KL Rahul has led the side to a 6-wicket victory in the IPL 2025 game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 11 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
After hitting the winning shot of the match, KL Rahul drew a circle on the ground and stomped his bat with authority at the centre of it.
The batter explained the inspiration behind the celebration after the game and said that it was from one of his favourite movies Kantara.
Having played only three games in the IPL 2025 season, he has 185 runs at an average of 92.50.
KL Rahul said that he wanted to tell the audience that it was his ground, a place where he grew up and that nobody knew hot to play at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

“This is a special place for me. That celebration was from one of my favourite movies, Kantara. So, ya, just a tiny reminder that this ground, this turf, this home is where I have grown up and that this is mine,” KL Rahul said after the match.
In the post match interview, Rahul was brimming with confidence after his 93-run knock one of his best in the Indian Premier League.
“This is my ground, this is my home. I know this better than anybody else,” KL Rahul said at the post-match interview.
“I knew what my shots are. Just wanted to get off to a good start, be aggressive initially and assess it from there. If I was trying to hit a big six, I knew what pockets to target,” he added.
This was Rahul’s second match-winning innings in 3 matches this IPL. He had skipped the first game of the season due to berth of his child. Rahul has flipped a switch in the IPL this season.
Delhi Capitals will play their next match against Mumbai Indians on April 13 at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
