Ever since the last mega auction, Rajasthan Royals has been one of the best-performing teams in the tournament.
During the IPL 2023 season, Rajasthan finished 5th position with 7 wins out of 14 matches. Rajasthan Royals are the one of teams to have made full retentions ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

RR Captain in IPL 2025
RR captain in IPL 2025: Sanju Samson will be retained as captain along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer and Sandeep Sharma.
Sanju has played with the franchise over the seasons, and also played for Delhi Daredevils in the years 2016 and 2017. He returned to the side in the 2018 season and has been named as the captain of the side on January 2021.
Samson has led RR to playoffs twice in 2022 and 2024. In 2022, he led the side to their second final, where they lost to Gujarat Titans. Samson is tied with Shane Warne as the RR captain with the most wins for the franchise with both winning 31 games.
