IPL 2022 Updates: IPL GC Announces Quarantine Norms For All IPL Teams

IPL Governing Council released the Three-day Quarantine Norms For All IPL Teams ahead of the 15th edition of the cash-rich tournament.

As per IPL 2022 schedule, the tournament will kickstart from March 26 with the final match on May 29. All 10 IPL participating teams have already finalized their squad for the IPL 2022 after the 2022 mega auction.

Three Day Quarantine Norms For All IPL Teams

Teams will have to undergo mandatory three-day quarantine before entering IPL 2022 bubble, the governing council has clarified. The teams will have to also undergo three RT-PCR Tests on the three days of quarantine and then another three till day six with all tests being conducted 24 hours apart.

At the end of the three-day quarantine, the players and support staffs will be allowed to enter the bubble only after the RT-PCR test on the fourth day returns a negative result. There are, however, exceptions to the rule as well.

For teams holding preparation camp

If the teams are holding any camp prior to arrival in Mumbai, then the same quarantine protocols will apply. While travelling to Mumbai, bubble to bubble transfer is possible by charter flights or road travel, such that the bubble is maintained at all times.

On arrival, test will be done in Mumbai and till the time results come out, the participants to be quarantined in their respective rooms. If the bubble to bubble transfer is not carried out or pre-camp quarantine as above is not done then on arrival in Mumbai, all the participants will have to undergo quarantine as per the protocols.

There should be zero contact at the airport. The cabin crew must undergo 2 RTPCR tests 48 hours before travel, the two tests must be done 24 hours apart. In case of road journey, the drivers and the coach attendants if any should have quarantined as per the protocols.

Protocols for players from the Indian Test team

The participants of the Indian Test team will be in a bubble, therefore bubble to bubble transfer is possible for them once the test match is over.

Players part of Indian camp in Bengaluru

The players will be in a managed environment for the last five days so that bubble to bubble transfer is possible once the camp is over. All parties involved (Coaches/transportation staff/hotel staff/groundsmen) in the training camp will undergo RT-PCR tests during the last five days on a daily basis.
