Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta recalled her conversation with Virat Kohli during the IPL 2025 match while answering questions from her fans and followers on social media on April 28.
Preity was seen laughing out as she looked at a photo on Virat Kohli’s mobile phone. A fan asked her what she had been discussing with the batting legend.
Preity Zinta said Virat Kohli was looking at photos of their children and talking about them. The Bollywood actor also recalled the first time she met Kohli, saying that the hunger in the cricketer had not changed over the years.
“We were showing each other pictures of our children and talking about them! Time does fly. When I first met Virat 18 years ago, he was a spirited teenager buzzing with talent and fire – today he still has that fire, and is an icon as well as a very sweet and doting father,” she said.
Preity has often spoken about Virat Kohli and his success in the game. When asked if the rumour about her cooking parathas for Punjab Kings when they win – as a tradition – was true, Preity said: “No, but according to the memes, I do.”

In response, Preity replied to a question asked whether she would choose a player from previous Punjab Kings side to play this year.
“The windscreen is larger than the rear-view mirror, so there’s no point going back to the past. It’s time to look forward and appreciate what one has in the present – and we have the best squad this year,” she said.
Punjab Kings are currently in the fifth position of the IPL 2025 Points table with five wins out of nine games. They have 11 points, which includes a point from a washed out game in Kolkata on Saturday due to rain.
Punjab Kings will play their next game against Chennai Super Kings on April 20 at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
