A solid start from Prabhsimran Singh leads the Punjab Kings from the front during the IPL 2026 game against the Rajasthan Royals on April 28 at New Chandigarh.
Despite losing the wickets of Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly, Prabhsimran Singh took a solid stance, giving a flying start for the Kings.
After being invited to bat first, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya opened the innings while Jofra Archer opened the bowling attack.
The duo made a solid start, stitching a 37-run partnership for the first wicket. Jofra Archer picked the wicket of Priyansh Arya for 29 runs. He got dismissed on a catch at mid-off taken by Nandre Burger.
With Cooper Connolly and Prabhsimran Singh at crease, Punjab Kings scored 65 runs in the powerplay. Shreyas Iyer came to bat at no. 4 as the side crossed 100 run mark and the duo will be aiming for posting a mammoth total against Rajasthan Royals.

Cooper Connolly made a brilliant cameo, scoring 30 runs off 13 deliveries. However, Yash Raj Punja bagged the wicket of the all-rounder on a full length outside off delivery where he sliced it to longoff. Donovan Ferreira came under the ball and took an easy catch.
Prabhsimran Singh went on to slam fifty in 35 deliveries leading the side towards posting a big total. However, he got dismissed by Yash Raj Punja on a leg-break outside off where Riyan Parag got took the catch at extra cover.
Nandre Burger bagged the wicket of Shreyas Iyer for 30 runs. He got dismissed on a slower ball, where the ball goes towards in short fine where Dhruv Jurel Picked the catch.
Marcus Stoinis went on a aggressive mode smashing 20 ball fifty. In the final over over, he went on to deal with six and fours as Punjab Kings scored 222 runs in the 20 overs.
Marcus Stoinis remained unbeaten with 62* runs while Suryansh Shedge scored 3* runs. Yash Punja bagged two wickets while, Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger picked one wicket each.
