KKR Retained And Released Players 2023: The two times title winners, Kolkata Knight Riders have ended up in the 7th position on the IPL 2022 Points Table.
KKR have only managed to win 6 matches out of 14 they played in the tournament. KKR has been inconsistent throughout the series and struggled to main a consistent form.
Under new skipper Shreyas Iyer, KKR won their first match against CSK by 6 wickets and made a much-appreciated start. KKR has been trashed after five consecutive defeats which loaded pressure on the team.
Earlier to this, in IPL 2013 under Gautam Gambhir’s captaincy, KKR ended up in 7th position. It is worth mentioning that KKR won two titles in 2012 and in 2014.
KKR who ended up in 3rd position in 2017, and in 2018 season has been pushed to the 5th position in the followed couple of seasons. In the 2021 season, KKR ended up as runner-up of the tournament after losing the final match against CSK by 27 runs.

KKR Retained and Released Players: It is learned that ahead of IPL 2023 auction, all teams are asked to submit their final list of retained players by November 15, 2022.
In order to avoid a massive collapse all teams will look to retain their star performer and will release the rest. It is expected that all teams will retain a maximum of 15 players ahead of the tournament.

- Aman Khan has been traded to Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2023 Auction.
- 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings has opted out of IPL 2023 to focus on longer formats of cricket who has been purchased for INR 2 crores in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
- Shardul Thakur has been traded from Delhi Capitals and is set to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023.
- Lockie Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz were traded from Gujarat Titans to Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of IPL 2023 auction.
- KKR is set to release Aaron Finch and will try to retain Alex Hales ahead of the IPL 2023 Auction.
- KKR has announced James Foster as their Assistant Coach and Ryan ten Doeschate as their fielding coach in IPL.
