Jhye Richardson Ruled Out of IPL 2023
Jhye Richardson was brought by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 Auction at his base price of INR 1.5 crores. Jhye Richardson made his IPL debut last season for Punjab Kings where he managed to play only 3 wickets from 3 matches he played.
He suffered a recurrence of the injury playing club cricket last week as he attempted a return to action after initially pulling up in the BBL. Jhye Richardson was also ruled out of the ODI series against India scheduled to play between March 17 to March 22.
As per IPL schedule 2023, Mumbai Indians will play their first match of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2 in M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
“Injuries are a big part of cricket, that’s a fact,” Richardson tweeted. “Frustrating? Absolutely.
“But I’m now in a scenario where I can get back to doing what I love and work bloody hard to become an even better player than before. One step back, two steps forward. Let’s do this.”

“Obviously it’s devastating that he has re-injured that hamstring again and he is going to miss a significant amount of time to get his hamstring right,” Western Australia coach Adam Voges said.
“We all feel for Jhye and we’re hopeful that whatever they come with as a solution can fix his hamstring and we get him back out there because it has been a tough 12 months for him”, he added.
Jhye Richardson has played 3 Tests, 15 ODIs and 18 T20I for the national team and bagged 57 wickets across the format.
