IPL 2025 MI vs SRH Playing 11
Abhishek Sharma now has seven 100s in T20 cricket – six of those scored since Jan 2023 – the third most for India in the format behind Kohli and Rohit. Trent Boult will be up against three LHB – Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Ishan Kishan – at the top, two of whom have scored under a run a ball against him in T20s.
Karn Sharma’s 3/36 in his first match of the season gave him only his second POTM award in IPL – the last one also coming when he represented MI in 2017.
MI have taken the most wickets (47) despite playing one game fewer than three other sides and have the second best average and best SR. SRH, on the other hand, have the lowest wickets/match ratio, worst average and ER.
In MI vs SRH match at Wankhede, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first. During the toss, MI captain Hardik Pandya said, “We are going to bowl first. I think it is a lot to do with the dew, last night there was dew and always at the Wankhede it is better to bat second. Same side.
Everyone knew we had to give it all and that made us close. That’s depending on the situation we will do that, we back all the batters in our team. He is fine. We don’t need to worry about Jasprit Bumrah”.
On the other hand, SRH captain Pat Cummins said, “That’s fine. It looks a pretty good wicket. Same side. I think Abhi is still looking at the highlights (*laughs*). But we had a nice break, couple of practice sessions and here we are, five days go like that.
I don’t think so (reverse swing playing a big part), certain venues.. Hyderabad because it is dry and it will be even tough (to get reverse) as we go along in the tournament as the dew comes in”.
