Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batter Ishan Kishan emphasised that the side is aiming for a 300-run score while they face Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 games on Thursday’s clash.
Ishan Kishan’s additions to SRH’s firepower from the IPL mega auction had only underlined the franchise’s efforts to build on their attacking batting intent.
While T20 cricket has evolved into a format defined by high-scoring totals, SRH became the prime example of that during their brisk IPL 2024 run.
“When you’re chasing, you have a target in mind. But when you’re batting first, you just play the ball. And then you decide where you can go after the first six overs and how good you are on that wicket. So I don’t want to be very particular with the score. But let’s see. If we get a good start, then why not?” Kishan said.

Ishan Kishan made off his new chapter with SRH in stunning fashion by smashing his maiden IPL century in just 45 balls, as his side faced Rajasthan Royals in the season opener. However, since that explosive start, both Kishan’s form and team’s fortune have dipped. SRH have now four out of their six matches in IPL 2025.
“Whether you’re batting at number 3 or 4, the situation is more or less the same. You just need to assess the wickets that have fallen and decide how you want to approach the game.”
“The clarity given by the coaches makes it easier – you know your role. If you start early, you face pace bowlers and, after batting through the powerplay, you’re well set to dominate the middle overs.”
“But if you walk in around the seventh over, it’s more about building a partnership and rotating strike. It’s slightly different, but I’m used to it,” he added.
Since his unbeaten 106 against RR, Kishan has only managed to score 30 runs in his next appearance.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will be playing their next match against Mumbai Indians on April 11, Kishan will be eyeing a much-needed return to form-especially against his former side.
