Mumbai Indians Assistant Batting Coach: Indian first-class cricketer Jagadeesh Arunkumar has been named as the assistant batting coach for Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2023 season.

Kieron Pollard has been named as the new batting coach for Mumbai Indians following his retirement announcement which came after Mumbai Indians released him ahead of the IPL 2023 Auction.

Jagadeesh Arunkumar – the new Mumbai Indians assistant batting coach has played in more than 100 first-class games, scoring 7,208 runs including 20 centuries.

He had previously represented India on Under 19 tours of South Africa and England. He also played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2008 edition.

Jagadeesh Arunkumar has an interesting coaching career. Arunkumar was named as batting coach of the Karnataka State Ranji Trophy team on 24 July 2012 where Karnataka had won back-to-back winning the Ranji Trophy, the Irani Cup and the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2013-14 and 2014–15.

Following his successful domestic coaching career, Kings XI Punjab roped Arunkumar as their batting coach for the 2017 IPL season.

He was appointed head coach of the Puducherry cricket team for the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy but left midway through the season due to a disagreement Cricket Association of Pondicherry officials over his health.

In April 2020, Arunkumar was appointed as the head coach of the United States national cricket team replacing interim coach James Pamment after USA Cricket chose not to renew the contracts of their support staff.

In the recently concluded IPL 2023 Auction, Mumbai Indians crossed their previous high and brought Cameron Green for a whooping INR 17.50 crores which made him the second most expensive player of the IPL auction history.
