We are going to bowl. First game we want to see how exactly the wickets are playing and keeping the dew factor as well. We wanted to see, assess and go through from there. It is always special to play in Wankhede because I have had some amazing memories here. It is a different role, different team but the feeling is same.
We want to win here and let’s see how it goes. We are going to give all the guys full freedom to express themselves. Lockie, Wade, Rashid and Miller are the four foreigner players.

I think it is pretty straightforward when you play in Wankhede, everyone wants to bowl first. The dew plays a big part in the second innings but the wicket remains the same throughout 40 overs. It is our first game and it is important to go out there and enjoy ourselves, put a good total on the board.
New franchise coming together and for us players we get to set a legacy, do our best as players, not much changes for us. Everyone has come in with a fresh mindset and wanting to win games of cricket. Three overseas players: Evin Lewis, Quinton de Kock and Chameera.

Lucknow Super Giants Batting
KL Rahul and de Kock gets into the crease to lead Lucknow Super Giants while Shami opens the bowling attack.
Shami in the very first ball dismissed KL Rahul for a golden duck and makes an impressive start to the innings. Shami in his next over dismissed de Kock for 7 runs and draws the second wicket.
Aaron in the next over dismissed Lewis for 10 runs and loads pressure over the Lucknow Super Giants. Shami in the next over dismissed Manish Pandey in the next over and make it as 3 wickets in total under his name within the powerplay.
At the end of the powerplay, LSG scored 29 runs for 4 wickets loss. Ayush Badoni and Deepak Hooda made a steady partnership and scored 47 runs for 4 wickets loss at the end of the 10 overs.
The duo continued to made an impressive partnership and scored 109 runs for 4 wickets loss at the end of the 15 overs. Rashid Khan in the next over dismissed Hooda for 55 runs and breaks the partnership.
At the end of the 20 overs, Lucknow Super Giants scored 158 runs for 6 wickets loss.
Gujarat Titans Batting
Shubman Gill and Wade opens the batting attack while Chameera opens the bowling attack. Chameera in the very first over dismissed Gill for duck and draws the first blood.
Chameera in his second over dismissed Shankar for 4 runs and loads the pressure over the Gujarat Titans batting unit. At the end of the 6 overs, Gujarat Titans scored 44 runs for 2 wickets loss.
Hardik Pandya and Wade starts to build a partnership and leads Gujarat Titans to score 72 runs for 2 wickets loss.
Miller and Rahul Tewatia join hands and start to flood the scoreboard with runs while Miller loses his wicket in the 18th over, Abhinav Manohar and Rahul Tewatia made a stunning partnership and leads Gujarat Titans to win the match by 5 wickets with 2 balls remaining to bowl.

I was warmed up well. It was important to get a good start in the first match, I looked to bowl a Test-match line and length here. When the ball comes out of your hand like that … (smiles). I have worked very hard on this seam position.
People say it is god-gifted, but that’s not the case. I try to come round the wicket to a leftie and make that angle because that’s the most uncomfortable thing for them.
I just look to do that. Hardik asked me if I wanted the fourth over on the trot, but I told me to hold me back.
