Day 01
- Kirk Mckenzie smashed a half-century on 130 deliveries before being dismissed by Hazlewood.
- The Australia Bowlers Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood bagged four wickets each to conclude West Indies’ 1st Innings for 188 runs.
- Debutant Shamar Joseph dismissed two batters Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne on the first day of the match, resulting in Australia losing 2 wickets by the end of Day 01 at Adelaide Oval.
Day 02
- After resuming with 59/2 Australia lost another two wickets as Green and Khawaja were sent back to the pavilion after scoring 113 runs.
- Travis Head smashed an impressive century before being sent out by Joseph for 119 runs. Australia concluded their first innings after scoring 283 runs.
- Shamar Joseph bagged a five-wicket haul in the first innings of Australia.
- After starting their second inning, West Indies suffered with early dismissals as they lost four wickets in 13 overs. Finally, West Indies scored 73 runs losing 6 wickets by the end of Day 02.
Day 03
- After resuming their innings on Day 03, West Indies concluded their second innings after scoring 120 runs.
- Josh Hazlewood had a five-wicket haul in the second innings of the match.
- Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc dismissed two wickets each in the second innings of the first test.
- With a trail of 25 runs, Australia started their second innings and scored 26 runs to win the match by 10 wickets.
