WPL 2024 Auction Date: BCCI planned to host the WPL 2024 Auction on December 9 in Mumbai. Following the successful completion of the first edition of the Women’s Premier League last year, BCCI decided to host the tournament with the same set of 5 teams.

WPL 2024 Auction Date: The first season was played in March 2023 where the Mumbai Indians won the title by beating Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2023 Final.
In WPL 2023, a total of five teams played against each other in a double round-robin format, where the three teams finished with the most points entered the playoff stages of the competition.
A total of 60 players including 21 overseas cricketers were retained across five playing teams while 29 players were released from their existing squads.
As per a report, an additional purse of INR 1.5 crore (approx. US $180,228) will be available to each of the five teams in addition to the balance amount left from the last auction as well as from player releases.
The amount derived from the releases along with the balance left from the last auction will be added to the fresh purse of INR 1.5 crore. Overall, 30 slots – including nine overseas – are available to be filled at the day-long auction.
At last year’s auction, seven players earned bids as high as INR 2 crore, and three breached the INR 3-crore mark – Smriti Mandhana (INR 3.4 crore), Ashleigh Gardner (INR 3.2 crore) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (INR 3.2 crore).
