We are going to bowl first. Quinton comes in for Klaasen. The team is feeling much better, de Kock is in a much better state. The first 5 overs will be key for us. We are expecting the pitch to be different here in Sharjah. We are expecting it be a slow and low wicket.

We have played a couple of games, so the ball might keep low. Bowlers and batters have been exposed to this wicket before, so that might be an advantage for us. We have planned after that loss against SA, so hopefully we’ll be able to execute them today. We are playing with the same team.

Nissanka and Kusal Perera gets into the crease to lead Sri Lanka while Markram opens the bowling attack.
The Sri Lankan duo needs to build a massive partnership to set a massive target against South Africa. But Nortje in the 4th over of the innings draws the first blood by dismissing Kusal Perera for 7 runs.
Asalanka then joins hands with Pathum Nissanka and adds a 41 runs partnership before Asalanka loses his wicket via a run-out dismissal. South African Shamsi on the other hand strikes the Sri Lankan batting unit like lightning and dismissed three top-order batsmen for single-digit runs.
With opening batsman Pathum Nissanka’s 72 runs off 58 balls Sri Lanka scored 142 runs for 10 wickets loss at the end of the 20 overs.

de Kock and R Hendricks gets into the crease to lead South Africa to chase down the target of 143 runs while Chameera opens the bowling attack.
Nor like Sri Lanka, South African opening batsmen lose their wickets to Chameera who dismissed de Kock and Hendricks in the 4th over and makes SA score like 26 runs for 2 wickets loss.
Rassie van der Dussen and Temba Bavuma then join hands and leads the SA. South Africa needs their captains’ knock to stay alive in the match. Though van der Dussen loses his wicket via an unwanted runout SA skipper puts all his effort and builds a partnership with Markram.
The duo added 47 runs for their next wicket where Hasaranga dismissed Markram and puts an end to the partnership. At the end of the 15 overs, SA scored 96 runs for 4 wickets loss.

Player of the Match
My first Man of the Match trophy in the World Cup, so it’s a special moment, but not to take anything away from Nortje, Markram, Miller and Rabada, they played their parts really well. I haven’t had a great number of chances previously, but I kept working hard, was looking to do something special, try and win games for the country.
The number one rank doesn’t really matter for me, I’m just glad that I am bowling well, we have one of the finest bowling attacks in the world and I’m just happy to be part of it.
