Scotland started their innings first in the Qualifier round Super Six match, they were able to deal with Zimbabwe bowlers with ease. The top-order batsmen like Christopher McBride and Matthew Cross played up their roles very well steadily increasing the score despite the fall of wickets.

Michael Leask scored 48 runs out of 34 balls before losing his wicket to Madhevere on Chatara’s over. Adding up the scores, Scotland was able to score 234 runs by the end of their innings losing eight wickets.

Zimbabwe Innings

After their plans folding Scotland with low scores did not go as per plan, Zimbabwe’s top-order batsman struggled to face the bowlers, losing four wickets within 10 overs. Sikandar Raza’s 34 runs on 40 balls get them back into the competition and after his fall, Ryan Burl changed the game by scoring 83 runs from 84 balls making his team to compete again.

Wessly Madhevere scored 40 runs out of 39 balls. After the fall of the wickets of Wessly and Ryan Burl, the bottom-order players were not able to stand up against Scotland’s bowlers and eventually lost the match.

Thanks. The best advice I have been given is to bowl as quickly as you can. We thought we were in the game as batting in the middle was not easy, we needed early wickets and I was happy to contribute. I won’t go that far ahead (thinking about the WC in India), we have another important match to go and look forward to that game. It was a fantastic atmosphere to play and the crowd made it enjoyable to play cricket.
