In the Super Sixes match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifiers, Zimbabwe had a match against Oman at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. By winning the toss, Oman opts to bowl first, where they have to face Zimbabwe’s strong batting lineup. Sean Williams emerged as the player of the match, scoring 142 runs which made Zimbabwe to make a total score of 332 runs. His performance proved to be too much for Oman as they struggled to keep up with his target.
Oman captain Zeeshan Maqsood had his own decision to bowl first, taking advantage of the seam movement for his pacers. He hoped to stop Zimbabwe with a low total score and successfully chase it down. But Sean Williams proved it to be wrong making a tough fight for Oman keeping a big score ahead of them.
More over the stunning victory of Zim against Oman in the super six of the qualifiers round showed Zimbabwe’s dominance in their group and proved to be the global significance of the upcoming World Cup.
