ZIM vs SA 1st Test Highlights
Day 01
- Batting first, South Africa lost four early wickets before scoring 100 runs. However, Lhuan dre Pretorius and Dewald Brevis has revived the innings after their century and fifty respectively.
- Pretorius went on to score 153 runs and by Corbin Bosch’s century South Africa went on to amass 418 runs in their first innings. Ranaka Chivanga went on pick four wicket haul for Zimbabwe.
Day 02
- Starting their innings, Zimbabwe went on to lose the top order, but got back in the innings with a cenutry from Sean Williams.
- With Wiaan Mulder’s four-fer and Codi Yusuf and Maharaj’s three-fer has helped the side to restrict Zimbabwe for 251 runs. South Africa went on to score 49/1 runs by the end of day 02.
Day 03
- Resuming the game on Day 03, Mulder went on to score 147 runs while Maharaj’s fifty has helped the side to post 369 runs in their second innings.
- Masakadza picked a four wicket haul while Tanaka Chivanga and Vincent Masekesa picked two wickets each.
- Starting their second innings, Zimbabwe went on to score 32 runs by the end of day 03.
Day 04
- Resuming the game on day 04, Zimbabwe went on to lose wickets on regular intervals with Corbin Bosch went on to pick five-wicket haul. Codi Yusuf went on to pick three wickets while Maharaj and Dewald Brevis picked a wicket each to dismantle hosts batting line up.
- Craig Ervine and Wellington Masakadza were the only scorers for the Zimbabwe in the second innings. However, their side were able to cope up the target and lost the game by 328 runs.

Lhuan-dre Pretorius | South Africa
It’s a moment I’ll cherish and remember for a very long time. I’m really grateful and it’s amazing. I haven’t played a lot of first-class games, I have been in a few of those situations back in South Africa. The message was quite clear in the change room, that I needed to be myself. Patience and capitalising on the bad balls, soaking in the pressure and transferring it back.
