Sri Lanka women won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking on the toss, Chamari Athapaththu said, “We decided to bowl first. I’m pretty confident about my bowling unit, so that’s why we decided to bowl first. We try to play positive cricket in the middle.”
“That’s the most important thing. Execute the right plan, right time. I think 130-140 is a good score to chase. So I know it’s going with the numbers, so the most important thing is we need to play our best cricket in the middle, and we try to win the game, and then let’s see how numbers work,” concluded Athapaththu.

Meanwhile, Kathryn Bryce said, “Probably would have batted. I think the surface looks pretty dry out there, but I think we’ve done that pretty successfully. I think it’s an exciting position to be in, to still have something to fight for.”
“And at the end of the tournament, I think we’ve played a lot of really good cricket in periods, so hopefully it all comes together today. Yeah, pretty familiar conditions. I think it might get a little bit turned through the middle, but I think it’ll be a good surface and good outfield. It’s been pretty dry,” concluded Bryce.
