Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming Women’s Asian Games 2026 after finishing as runners-up in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026.
Chamari Athapaththu-led Sri Lanka will be missing several match players like Vishmi Gunaratne, Nilakshika Silva and Chetana Vimukthi.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Chamudi Praboda, who made an impression during the Asia Cup and 19-year-old Rashmika Sewwandi have been included in the squad.
The team is entering the Asiad on the back of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 campaign, which ended with a 72-run defeat in the final against India.
Sri Lanka has been bolstered with international figures like Imesha Dulani, Harshitha Samarawickrama, Kaveesha Dilhari, Hasini Perera, Sugandika Kumari and Anushka Sanjeewani.
The squad adjustments pave the way for the returns of Rashmika Sewwandi and Nimasha Meepage, both of whom featured against Pakistan in August before Meepage missed out on Asia Cup selection alongside Hansima Karunaratne and Anushka Sanjeewani.
For wk-batter Sanjeewani, this marks her first return to the international T20 format since Sri Lanka’s series against New Zealand in March 2025.
