The INDW vs BANW clash in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, played on October 27 at Navi Mumbai, has been abandoned due to rain.
The rain-affected game had no impact on the points table, as India secured a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament, while Bangladesh was eliminated from the tournament.
The toss delayed the start of the game at Navi Mumbai where India invited Bangladesh to bat first.
Batting first, Sumaiya Akter and Rubya Haider opened the innings while, Renuka Singh opened the bowling attack.
With the dismissal of Sumaiya Akter for 2 runs, Rubaya also lost her wicket for 13 runs as Bangladesh scored 34 runs in the powerplay (9 overs).
Sharmin Akter and Nigar Sultana tried to stabilise the innings, but Sultana was sent out on a run out for 9 runs.
Sobhana Mostary joined Sharmin aiming to stabilise the innings, but Radha Yadav broke the partnership bagging the wicket of Sobhana for 26 runs.
Following the partnership break, Bangladesh eventually went on lose back to back wickets and scored 119 runs in 27 overs.
Radha Yadav bagged three wickets while Shree Charani completed her spell with two wickets.
In the pursuit of chasing the target, Amanjot Kaur and Smriti Mandhana opened the innings, where the duo went on to score 57 runs in the 9th over before rain interrupted the game again.
The rain is so persistent and went on to pour continously due to which umpires called off the game.

Speaking on the toss, Harmanpreet Kaur said, ” We’re going to bowl first. Because of the overcast conditions we thought bowling would be a good decision. She’s going to debut today (Uma Chetry). Richa is resting. Two more players are resting – Kranti and Sneh Rana. Had the self belief that we can change this (after three losses).”
Meanwhile, Nigar Sultana said, “Kind of good for us because our bowlers have been doing well. Have to give them a good total to defend. Was pretty difficult (getting over SL defeat). Have to move on and play our A game. The way our bowlers have been bowling, and looking at the conditions, 230-plus can be a good total.”
