The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the India Women’s Squad for the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The squad have made one change as the 17-year old G Kamalini has earned a maiden call-up, replacing Yastika Bhatia. However, the squad remains mostly unchanged from the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The squad will have experienced campaigners Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh and Renuka Singh. Meanwhile, Shreyanka Patil has been subjected to fitness clearance after her ankle ligament injury during the World Cup campaign.

Leg spinner Prema Rawat, who has been named as a replacement, has not been retained in the squad.

Harmanpreet Kaur will be leading the side with Smriti Mandhana named as her deputy.

G Kamalini was part of the India A squad that toured England this month and also finished third on the run charts at the 2025 U19 Women’s World Cup and joined the Mumbai Indians for INR 1.6 crore at the 2025 auction before being retained ahead of the 2026 mega auction.

She played 14 matches across two seasons for the two-time champions, aggregating 107 runs at a strike rate of 104.90 in WPL. Kamilini made her senior debut in the final match of the five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in Trivandrum in December last year.

India were the winners of the 2023 Asian Games and will be defending their title in the tournament, which is set to run between September 17 and 22.

The tournament will feature eight teams and be played in a direct knockout format beginning with the quarter finals.
