Will Shaheen Afridi Play in T20 World Cup 2022: Pakistan cricket fans are having sleepless nights regarding their favourite speedsters’ participation in T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
Pakistan’s spearhead Shaheen Afridi’s participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup event remains in doubt and has not yet been confirmed by any officials. Though various reports and media claim that Shaheen Afridi will be fit for the event, fans still wait for official confirmation from the PCB.

In this situation, former Pakistan cricket Salman Butt warns Shaheen Afridi to skip the T20 World Cup 2022 if he is not 100 percent fit. Shaheen Afridi suffers a knee injury during the Test series against Sri Lanka in August and currently underwent rehabilitation in London and is expected to reach Australia on October 15.
Notably, Shaheen missed the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022 where his team ended up as the runner-up of the tournament.
However, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja revealed that he had a chat with Shaheen Afridi, who feels “110 percent fit” for the T20 World Cup 2022.
“I had a chat with Shaheen, a day before yesterday. He said that he hasn’t felt this good in ages. So, the progress is very good. The doctors had sent the video and he is currently 90 percent fit. But he said that he will be fit in time and ready for battle,” Ramiz told Pakistan’s Dawn News.
“These knee injuries can be technical and delicate at times. So, we had a discussion that if he is not fully fit, we wouldn’t risk him. But, Shaheen is saying that he is 110 per cent fit at the moment. He also said that he will play the practice matches, and get ready for the game against India,” he added.
Pakistan will play their first match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 against India on October 23 in Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne.
