WI vs BAN 2022: Bangladesh Includes Anamul Haque for Second Test

Bangladesh Cricket Board has named Anamul Haque in their squad for the second Test against West Indies. Anamul Haque was included in the squad after Yasir Ali was ruled out of the series due to a back injury.

During the Bangladesh tour of West Indies 2022, both teams will play 2 match Test series, 3 matches T20I series, and 3 matches ODI series till July 16. The second Test match will begin on June 24 in Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.

Anamul Haque Named in Bangladesh Test squad

Yasir sustained a back injury during the lone three-day practice game against President’s XI at CCG on 10 June. The first Test match will commence on June 16 in Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.

Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin confirmed the development to Cricbuzz on Wednesday. ”We have decided to send Anamul as a back-up batsman considering Yasir has been ruled out from the (Test) series due to injury.

”Anamul is scoring runs consistently at domestic cricket and as a result we have included him in the white-ball series following the Test matches,” he added.

Post the 2-match test series which was a part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship, both teams will play 3 match T20I series and 3 match ODI series. The first 2 T20I matches will be played in Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica while the remaining T20I and 3 match ODI series will be played in Providence Stadium, Guyana.

Bangladesh has named Shakib Al Hasan as their captain for the Test team while Tamim Iqbal will captain the ODI squad and all-rounder Mahmudullah will captain the T20I side of Bangladesh.
