The 29-year-old Brydon Carse who joined Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) during the IPL 2025 auction for INR 1 crore will likely miss the tournament due to a toe injury and has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Representing England, Carse picked with the figures off 1/69 off seven overs during the match against Australia and contributed 8 runs with the bat.
With the injury needing a good amount to recover, Rehan Ahmed has been named as a replacement in the ICC event.
If he fails to recover before the start of the IPL 2025, SRH will be looking for a potential replacement for the upcoming season.

Richard Gleeson (England)

Dwaine Pretorius (South Africa)
South African all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius registered for the IPL 2025 action but failed to generate interest among franchises.
Pretorius has picked 223 wickets and scored 2781 runs in 252 T20 appearances. He picked eight wickets in four games for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Global Super League.

His best figures of 3/15 came against the eventual champions Rangpur Riders. He bowled five overs and picked up two wickets in SA20 2025 while conceding 45 runs.
Ottneil Baartman (South Africa)
Ottneil Baartman who played for Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 has been went unsold during IPL 2025 auction who registered for INR 75 lakhs. He made an impressive campaign in SA20 2025, taking 11 wickets at an economy of 7.71.

Cummins-Baartman-Harshal Patel-Shami will make for a formidable bowling line-up in the last five overs, a phase that’s usually dominated by the batters.
Playing 96 matches, he bagged 132 T20 wickets at an average of 18.18 and a strike rate of 15.1. He could serve as a potential replacement for Brydon Carse in the IPL 2025.
