Tom Curran is likely to be ruled out of the upcoming IPL 2024 after he suffered a knee injury during the BBL match between Syndey Sixers and Melbourne Stars on January 10.

Considering the extent of the injury, he was ruled out of the rest of the tournament. He also withdrew from the ongoing ILT20 league and upcoming PSL 2024.

On this occasion, the injury is rumored to be more severe than it was expected and hence it is said that the English Cricketer cannot play in the IPL 2024.

After playing in three seasons of the Indian Premier League, the all-rounder was left unsold during the IPL 2023 auction. He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore during the IPL 2024 auction for a price of INR 1.5 crore.

He has played 13 matches across the league where he bagged 13 wickets and scored a total of 430 IPL runs.

During the IPL 2024 auction, the RCB franchise released Josh Hazlewood, Wanindhu Hasaranga, and Harshal Patel. On the other hand, they bought Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal, Tom Curran, and Lockie Ferguson.

On this occasion, the RCB is looking for a replacement for Tom Curran for the upcoming tournament in March. Out of Choices, the West Indies Pacer Shamar Joseph who made his Test debut during the West Indies tour of Australia 2024, was the favorite of the franchise.

He dismissed seven wickets during the test at Gabba to help his team win a thriller by eight runs. He ended the test series as the second most wicket-taker with 13 dismissals with an average of 17.31.

Even the cricket Analyst Prasanna has also indicated the signing of the player by the franchise.

The IPL 2024 is set to be played between March 23, 2024, and May 29, 2024. It will be the last chance for players across the World to gain some experience in the short format, before participating in the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to begin in June.

The IPL fixtures are yet to be released by the BCCI as the general election dates clash with dates of the domestic league. BCCI and the Election Commission of India are working together to finalize the dates of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League.
