    Tim Seifert, Finn Allen Guides New Zealand to 5-Wicket Win Over Pakistan in 2nd T20I

    Solid Knocks from Tim Seifert and Finn Allen along with Bowlers powered New Zealand’s win over Pakistan in the second T20I played on March 18 at Dunedin.

    The Blackcaps secured a 2-0 lead in the five match series in Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand.

    Pakistan who suffered a humiliating defeat in the first T20I for 91 in Christchurch, scored 135 runs for 9 wickets in the rain shortened 15-over game, but it was not enough to secure defend the total as New Zealand sealed a five wicket win.

    New Zealand pacers troubled Pakistan’s lineup with Jacob Duffy dismissed Hasan Nawaz for a duck whereas Ben Sears removed Mohammad Haris for 11 runs.

    With Pakistan’s top order struggled once again with pace and bounce, it was Ish Sodhi’s twin strike in the seventh over removing Irfan Khan (11) and Khushdil Shah (2) to leave visitors reeling at 4/52.

    Captain Salman Agha was the only scorer for the visitors, playing a fighting 46 off 28 balls which includes 4 fours and 3 sixes. Shadab Khan contributed (26 off 14 deliveries) before being dismissed by Duffy. James Neesham striking twices in the 13th over to remove Jahandad Khan and Abdul Samad.

    Shaheen Afridi’s 22* runs lifted Pakistan to post some decent score. During the run chase, New Zealand reached 50 runs mark in four overs. Salman Agha Ali put an end to 66-run stand, removing Seifert for 45 in 32 balls, with three fours and five sixes.

    Allen developed a brief partnership with Mark Chapman, but his explosive knock was ended by Jahandad Khan, who dismissed him on lbw for 38 runs off 16 balls, with a four and five sixes.

    New Zealand scored 87 in 6.5 overs losing two wickets. However Kiwis lost Chapman and James Neeshan cheaply to 97/4 in 8.3 overs. Daryl Mitchell and Mitchell Hay forged the partnership which helped New Zealand to win with 11 balls to spare and five wickets in hand.

    Haris Rauf picked three wicket haul conceding 20 runs but wasn’t enought to get victory for the side.
