The Mumbai Indians fast bowler Akash Madhwal has opened the atmosphere in the Mumbai Indians camp despite their poor start in IPL 2024.

Akash Madhwal opens on Mumbai Camp Atmosphere

Akash Madhwal has assured that there’s a very good atmosphere in the Mumbai Camp despite suffering back-to-back defeats in their new season under the leadership of all-rounder Hardik Pandya who joined MI in a trade deal.

Hardik Pandya has been successful as captain of Gujarat guiding to the title in 2022 and taking them to the finals in their last two seasons.

Speaking after the side’s loss against Rajasthan, Madhwal said the dressing room atmosphere was very good despite their poor campaign.

“The dressing room atmosphere is very good. Yes, there’s a new captain. Yes, the two captains are different. But, playing under Rohit was also good and I am enjoying playing under Hardik.”

“Even in this match, I was talking to Hardik bhai and Rohit Bhaiya as well. I keep asking questions to Bumrah bhai. It’s not like that there’s something going on in the team. The team is in a very good atmosphere,” said Madhwal.

Madhwal said the team comes first to him and he is ready to perform whenever he gets a chance. Madhwal broke into the spotlight with his intense bowling attacks.  He picked up 14 wickets in eight matches of the last season and a five-wicket haul against Lucknow Super Giants to guide his side to victory in playoffs.

“The team comes first. It’s not about me. It’s all about the combination. MI have world-class bowlers, so I have to keep competing with them. I have to earn my place and give confidence to the coaching staff. So, it’s about the team management getting the combination right,” Madhwal added.

Currently, Mumbai Indians secured the last position in the IPL 2024 points table. Mumbai will be playing their next match against Delhi Capitals on April 05 at Wankhede Stadium.
