The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have handed the maiden call-up for Pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib for the upcoming two-match home series against Zimbabwe starting on April 20.
The 22-year-old Tanzim Hasan Sakib who has played 10 ODI, and 22 T20Is for Bangladesh has 37 scalps to his name in international cricket so far. Meanwhile, Najmul Shanto and veteran Mushfiqur Rahim are the notable inclusions in Bangladesh’s 15-member squad.
Rahim who recently retired from the ODI format following the side’s Champions Trophy exit is the highest-capped Bangladesh player in the red-ball format.
Having played 94 tests, he has 6007 runs at an average of 37.8 including 11 centuries and 27 half-centuries.
Meanwhile, Taskin Ahmed is one of the notable absentees, he has been ruled out due to a left Achilles tendon injury as confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board in an official statement.

BCB chief physician Dr. Debashis Chowdhury confirmed Taskin’s absence. “Taskin is currently undergoing rehabilitation for his left Achilles tendon problem and is unavailable for this series.”
Meanwhile Litton Das will be unavailable for selection due to his commitments with Karachi Kings in the pakistan Super League. Shahadat Hossain, Hasan Murad, and Shoriful Islam have been dropped from the squad that toured the West Indies in 2024.
Mushfiqur, Mahidul Islam Ankon, and Jaker Ali with Litton opting out despite being available after the conclusion of Pakistan Super League.
Meanwhile, the top order features Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Sadman Islam, Zakir Hasan and Monimul Haque.
The first test begins on April 20 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, followed by the second test from April 28 at Chattogram.
