India opener Smriti Mandhana went on on to continue her form as she went on to score back to back centuries in the ongoing ODI series against Australia.
After smashing a stunning 117 run century in the 2nd ODI game against Australia, she went on to smash 50-ball century in the third ODI game and records for the second fastest century in both women’s and men’s divisions combined.
Her century is only behind Meg Lanning’s 45-ball century against New Zealand, a record which remains untouched since 2012/13.
The left hander went past Virat Kohli had held the record for more than a decade, having scored 52-ball hundred against Australia way back in 2012-13 season.
She was the record holder for slamming fastest century hit by an India women and shattered her own record by a margin of 20 balls. Earlier she had hit a hundred in 70 balls against Ireland in Rajkot.

Playing in the decider game of the ODIs series, India were opted to chase a mammoth 412 runs at Arun Jaitley.
Indian bowlers had a really tough time, courtesy of Beth Mooney who hit 138 runs off 75 deliveries.
Deepti Sharma was most economical bowler for India with a spell of 10-0-68-1. This will be India’s final match before the ODI World Cup 2025 which begins on September 30 where India will play against Sri Lanka at Barsapara Stadium.
Mandhana hit 17 boundaries and 5 sixes in her 125-run innings. Mandhana got out to spinner Grace Harris, trying to hit a high full toss in the 22nd over of the game.
After scoring 121 runs for the third wicket, Harmanpreet Kaur and Mandhana fell in quick succession, putting India in trouble.
With Harmanpreet Kaur’s 52 runs, Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana are aiming to help the side to march towards victory.
