SL vs BAN 1st Test Playing 11: Dhananjaya de Silva-led Sri Lanka will square off against Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh in the first test of the Bangladesh tour of Sri Lanka 2025, beginning on June 17 at Galle International Stadium, Galle.
This marks the beginning of the new WTC cycle (2025-27) with both sides aiming for a fresh start.
Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat. Speaking at the toss, Najmul Hossain Shanto said, “I like to bat first. Looks like a dry wicket. In the fourth wicket, there’s a chance to get all the wickets. New match, new conditions and we have to play good cricket. Two spinners, two fast bowlers.”

Meanwhile, Dhananjaya de Silva said, “Of course (would have batted as well). The pitch is going to be batting friendly. One of the greatest players Sri Lanka has produced so far. Two fast bowlers, two spinners.”
