Captain Shan Masood has expressed his frustration during a press conference after questioning about his captaincy following the defeat in the second test of the West Indies tour of Pakistan 2025.
The hosts suffered a 120-run defeat to the West Indies in the second test which levelled the series 1-1. After the defeat, a journalist asked Shan whether he would decide on his captaincy future himself or leave it to the Pakistan Cricket Board.
In response, Shan initially dismissed the question saying, “Next question.” He added, “This kind of disrespect is something no one would tolerate. Your question was extremely demeaning.”
Continuing his remarks, Shan Masood said, “In an attempt to ask a question, you have tried to put someone down. You should show respect to your players as well.”
Shan further stated that he would not address past events but was willing to talk about the present.
“If you want to discuss facts, feel free to do so, but your information is completely incorrect. Do your research before asking questions and then say whatever you want,” he remarked.

The captain emphasized that decision-making is the responsibility of the PCB.
“We accept every decision made, including those involving me. We belong to this country, this institution, and to you as well,” he said.
“We play for Pakistan, and we strive to deliver results. In these conditions, we have won three out of four matches, losing only one. The loss came because of mistakes made on the first day.”
The West Indies delivered a spin-bowling master-class to defeat Pakistan in the second and final test of the series. The victory marked the West Indies‘ first test win on Pakistan’s home soil in 34 years, with their last win dating back to 1990.
