The opening batter, Shafali Verma, has been named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for November 2025 after putting up a show with bat and ball during the ODI World Cup 2025.

She beat out Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong and the UAE’s Esha Oza from the UAE after a scintillating performance in the summit clash.

After being drafted into India’s squad for the knockout stages of the Women’s Cricket World Cup as a replacement for injured Pratika Rawal.

Despite getting out cheaply against Australia in the semi-finals, Shafali Verma made a stunning 87 runs from 78 deliveries, the highest by an Indian opening batter in a Women’s ODI World Cup finals, to set up India’s total of 298 runs for seven wickets in the title decider against South Africa.

She also picked two crucial wickets of Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp, helping the side to defend the total, and her all-rounder performance earned her the Player of the Match award after India’s World Cup victory campaign.

Speaking on getting her maiden ICC Women’s Player of the month award, Shafali Verma said, “My first ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup experience didn’t go as I expected, but it ended far better than I could have ever wished or imagined.

“I’m grateful that I could contribute to the team’s success in the Final and that I was able to be a part of making history in winning the World Cup for the first time and in front of a home crowd.

“I’m truly honoured to be named the Women’s Player of the Month for November. I dedicate this award to my teammates, coaches, family and everyone who has supported my journey until now. We win and lose as a team; the same goes for this award,” concluded Shafali Verma.

Meanwhile, Simon Harmer went on to clinch the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for November 2025 after outmatching Bangladesh’s spinner Taijul Islam and Pakistan’s all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz.
