A solid knocks from Saif Hassan and Towhid Hridoy has gained a solid 4 wicket victory in the Super Fours game of Asia Cup 2025 game against Sri Lanka at Dubai.
Saif Hassan and Towhid Hridoy went on to score 61 and 58 run knocks has helped the side to post a thrilling victory on Saturday’s clash.
After putting to bat first, Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis made a decent start for Sri Lanka scoring 44 runs for first wicket. Taskin Ahmed went on to get the first wicket dismissing Pathum Nissanka for 22 runs.
Mahedi Hasan wiped out the remaining top order – Kusal Mendis (34) and Kamil Mishara (5) has helped Bangladesh to pick three wickets for 65 runs.
Kusal Perera and Charith Asalanka tried to stitch partnership with Dasun Shanaka who went on to smash fifty and remained unbeaten with 64 till the end of the innings.

Kusal Perera scored 16 and Asalanka contributed 21 runs for the side which helped the side to post 168 runs in their 20 over innings.
Mustafizur Rahman went on to pick three wickets while Mahedi Hasan and Taskin Ahmed went on to pick 2 and 1 wickets respectively.
In the pursuit of chasing 169 runs, Saif Hasan and Tanzid Hasan Tamim opened the innings for Bangladesh while Nuwan Thushara opened the bowling attack.
With the dismissal of Tanzid for 0, Saif Hassan and Litton Das went on to score 59 runs in the powerplay. Wanindu Hasaranga picked the wicket of Litton Das for 23 runs while Saif Hassan and Towhid Hridoy went on to slam fifties each.
Hasaranaga went on to dismiss Hassan for 61 runs while Towhid Hridoy went on to score 58 runs before being dismissed on a lbw.
With Shamim Hossain and Jaker Ali at crease, Bangladesh went on to score six wicket victory at Dubai.
Saif Hassan was named player of the Match. Speaking at the toss, Hassan said, “The wicket was very good and I tried to time the ball and hold my shape. Litton was helping me and it was easy batting with him.”
“He was supporting a lot, he was making my game easier, he was anticipating quite well and telling what the next ball would be. Very happy to contribute for the team,” added Hassan.
“The preparation was good, we had a good plan against their bowlers. We had a plan against him (Thushara), for the right-handed batsmen, to hold our shape and play straight, that worked a lot,” he concluded.
India and Pakistan will clash on the next Super 4s clash of the Asia Cup 2025 on September 21 at Dubai International Stadium.
