The TNPL organised by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association has been contributing tirelessly to improve the cricketing career inside the state. Some Players who played in TNPL have achieved success playing in the National cricket team and the Indian Premier League.
As of 2023 seven seasons have been completed successfully and the TNPL 2023 featured auction, which is set to be followed for TNPL 2024 also. Some of the players have been retained by the squad.
Tamil Nadu Cricket Association has some set of rules to be followed in the TNPL 2024 auction.
- All eight teams must have a minimum of 16 members and a maximum of 20 players.
- All franchises can buy players within the allocated budget of INR 70 lakh.
Sai Kishore who played in three T20Is for the national side has been bought by IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans for INR 22 Lakhs during TNPL 2024 auction. Sai Kishore has played in 5 IPL matches so far and bagged 6 wickets with an average of 20.17 conceding nearly 7.56 economy.

During the Auction, each franchise must build a squad comprising a minimum of 16 players and a maximum of 20 with an allocated budget of INR 70 lakh.
The eligible players from the TNPL 2024 Auction registered list will be grouped into 4 categories based on their career record. The base price will vary based on the category.
The categories of players and reserve price are
- Category A – International players who have represented the Senior Indian team – 3 Lakhs
- Category B – Rs. 2.00 Lakhs – Players who have played in the First Class matches conducted by BCCI (Multi-day/ OneDay/ T20 format)
- Category C – Rs. 1.00 Lakh – Players who have not played for Senior Domestic tournaments conducted by BCCI but have played more than 35 matches in TNPL
- Category D – Other Players – Rs. 0.50 Lakhs
