The Bangladesh opener Rubya Haider went on to smash a maiden fifty and helped Bangladesh Women to post a 7-wicket victory in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 game against Pakistan Women on October 02 at Colombo.
They went on to chase the target in the 32 overs and secured a comfortable win against Fatima Sana’s side.
Batting first, Pakistan’s innings did not have a great start as their batting lineup crumbled.
Muneeba Ali and Omaima Sohail opened the innings for Pakistan, while Marufa Akter opened the bowling attack. Akter bagged the wickets of Omaima Sohai and Sidra Amin in back-to-back deliveries for a golden duck.
Muneeba Ali and Rameen Shamim joined hands to score 41 runs in the powerplay. However, Nahida Akter went on to bag the duo’s wicket for 17 and 23 runs respectively.
With Nishitha Akter bagging the wicket of Aliya Riaz for 13 runs, Pakistan lost 6 wickets for scoring 91 runs.
Soon after Aliya Riaz walked out, Fatima Sana lost her wicket fo Fahima Khatun for 22 runs on a lbw. Following the dismissal Natalia Perviaz went back for 9 runs after being caught by Nigar Sultana in Shorna Akter’s delivery.
Shorna Akter went on for her second wicket dismissing Nashra Sandhu for 1 runs leaving Pakistan with their last wicket for 115 runs. She bagged the wicket of Sadia Iqbal in the 39th over as Bangladesh Women Bowled out Pakistan Women for 129 runs at Colombo.

In the pursuit of chasing 130 runs, Fargana Hoque and Rubya Haider went on to open the innings while Fatima Sana opened the bowling attack.
With the dismissal of Hoque for 2 runs, Sharmin Akhter lost her wicket for 10 runs on a lbw. However, Rubya took a stance and forged partnerships with Nigar Sultana and Sobhana Mostary guiding the side to post a victory.
In the meanwhile, Rubya Haider went on to smash a maiden fifty in ODIs guiding to post 7 wicket victory in the CWC 2025 game against Pakistan.
Marufa Akhter was named as the player of the match. Speaking on the post match conference, “I would like to thank my team members. They supported me (from the other end), they all told me you’re a lovely bowler and inspired me.”
“Our analyst told me to give my best shot, I managed to do it. I was getting some good swing, I maintained my line and lengths while bowling. Both wickets were my favourite. I am the best fielder in our team,” concluded Marufa Akhter.
Bangladesh Women will play their next game against England Women on October 07 at Guwahati.
