An impressive bowling display from Shorna Akter, along with Marufa Akter and Nahida Akter, has helped Bangladesh women to bowl out Pakistan women for a low total during the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 clash.
Shorna returned with an impressive figure of 3.3-5-3-1.40 and bowled three maiden overs, helping the side to restrict Pakistan women to 129 runs at Colombo.
Batting first, Pakistan’s innings did not have a great start as their batting lineup crumbled.

Muneeba Ali and Rameen Shamim joined hands to score 41 runs in the powerplay. However, Nahida Akter went on to bag the duo’s wicket for 17 and 23 runs respectively.
With Nishitha Akter bagging the wicket of Aliya Riaz for 13 runs, Pakistan lost 6 wickets for scoring 91 runs.
Soon after Aliya Riaz walked out, Fatima Sana lost her wicket fo Fahima Khatun for 22 runs on a lbw. Following the dismissal Natalia Perviaz went back for 9 runs after being caught by Nigar Sultana in Shorna Akter’s delivery.

Speaking at the toss, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana said, “We will bat first. The pitch looks good for batting, hopefully we will play good cricket. Every team is tough to beat in World Cup. If we play good cricket we can beat any time. Three new faces for us.”
Meanwhile, Nigar Sultana said, “It’s ok but we wanted to bat as well. It was pretty good to bat on in the warm-up games as well. We have been practicing very hard, fitness, skill-wise as well.”
