    Rishabh Pant to return as Delhi Capitals Captain for IPL 2024

    Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, the wicket-keeper batter will be leading the Delhi Capital for the upcoming Indian Premier League.

    Delhi Capitals is expecting the 26-year-old batter to lead the franchise in the upcoming season. The franchise expects him to be fully fit for the domestic T20 league.

    Rishabh Pant was one of the players retained by the franchise for this season. Despite not being selected for India’s tour of South Africa, he joined his DC teammates last month during a camp at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake Campus pitch. He hinted at his return to cricketing journey.

    During the recent camp of the Delhi Capitals, he went through the paces under the supervision of Coaching staff Ricky Ponting, Sourav Ganguly, and Pravin Amre.

    According to the sources, he joined the camp to discuss the retained players and released players before the auction which is set to be held on December 19 in Dubai. The auction can be seen by live streaming on TV channels.

    The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to begin in March 2024. With the successful run of the league, there will be a mini-auction to fill the available slots across all the franchises.

    Rishabh Pant made his IPL debut during the 2016 season and appeared in 98 matches scoring 2838 runs with a strike rate of 147.97.

    Currently, Rishabh Pant is recovering from the car accident he had last December.  Pant met with a car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway and got multiple injuries. He received initial treatment in Dehradun and was airlifted to Mumbai for better and more specialized treatment.

    Pant missed the IPL 2023 season, the World Test Championship finals, and the ODI World Cup 2023 which is hosted by India. Fans are hoping to see his action in India’s squad for the Upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 next year.
