Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja achieved an impressive feat bagging the 200-wicket in ODI games during the match against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2023.

India is scheduled to play in the 6th match of the Super Fours in the Asia Cup 2023 against Bangladesh on September 15. Winning the toss India Chose to bowl. India continued to show impressive performance throughout Asia Cup matches.

The side has been excellent during the match against Bangladesh reducing them to 59/4 in 14 overs. But the side was helped by Captain Shakib Al Hasan’s 80 runs and Towhid Hridoy’s 54 runs. With the dismissal of Shakib after the drinks break in the 33rd over. On the next over, Shamim Hossain was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja where he recorded his 200-wicket feat in ODIs.

Nasum Ahmed scored 44 runs to help Bangladesh on the scoreboard. By the end of 50 overs, Bangladesh scored 265 runs losing 8 wickets.

With a target of 266, India started their innings where Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma were sent out with a duck and 5 runs by Tanzim Hasan Shakib. India has lost three wickets so far in the match.

Jadeja becomes the second Indian to achieve 200 wickets and over 2000 runs in ODIs after the former captain Kapil Dev. He joins the list of leading names to have achieved this feat.

He becomes the seventh player to reach the 200-wicket mark in ODIs. Anil Kumble tops the list with 337 wickets, Javagal Srinath stands second with 315 runs and Ajit Agarkar stands third with 288 wickets.  Zaheer Khan stands in fourth place with 282 wickets while Harbhajan Singh have 269 wickets and Kapil Dev stands sixth with 251 wickets.

Kapil Dev has registered 253 wickets and 3783 runs in 225 ODI matches. He held the distinction of becoming the first Indian bowler to reach the 250-wicket mark in ODIs for India. Jadeja has 200 wickets in 174 ODI innings, maintaining an average of 36.83 and an economy rate of 4.89.

He made his contributions with bat in ODIs, scoring 2578 runs from 123 innings at an impressive average of 32.22 while securing 13 half-centuries.

India rested some of their key players including Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya for the final match in the Super Fours against Bangladesh. They will be facing Sri Lanka in the finals which is scheduled to be played on September 17 at R. Premadasa Stadium.
