Rahul Dravid received a guard of honour from Young cricketers at a local cricketing academy after World Cup winning coach. The young talents and the coaching staff at the cricket academy paid tribute to the former India coach.

The students raised their bats and the coaching staff of the academy gave applause to Rahul Dravid. He shook hands with everyone and gave a smiling gesture.

Rahul Dravid made his international debut in 1996 and played for India before making his retirement in 2012 having scored 13,288 runs in Tests and 10,899 runs in ODIs. Winning a World Cup was a dream for him and he fulfilled that dream as a coach.

Dravid has stepped down from the Head coach position for India and will look to shaping many young talents. In a video posted by Bengaluru’s local cricket academy, Dravid expressed his happiness to be back at the ground who will be waiting to make a name for themselves in the Indian cricket arena.

The way Dravid celebrated the victory in an animated version shows what the victory meant to him. He also showed passion while waving at the crowd during India’s victory parade.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma also paid tribute to Dravid during a post-match conference and said the coach deserved the title more than anyone else.

“Rahul Dravid, more than any of us, deserved the World Cup trophy. What he has done for Indian cricket for the past 20–25 years… I think this was the only thing that was left in his cabinet. Very happy for all of us, on behalf of the entire team, that we could do this for him. You saw how proud he was and how excited he was,” said Rohit Sharma.
