The BCB has announced the Bangladesh squad for the Asia Cup 2025, where wk-batter Nurul Hasan has returned to the T20I format.
Apart from him, Saif Hasan will also be making a return to the T20I setup after a hiatus of one and a half years. His last appearance comes from the Asia Games 2023.
However, Mehidy Hasan could not retain his spot and was place in the reserve list. Apart from Mehidy, Soumya Sarkar along Tanvir Islam and Hasan Mahmud were picked as standby for Asia Cup. Litton Das will be leading the side during the continental event.

Interestingly there was no place for former T20I skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto in the standby-list.
Bangladesh will be entering the tournament in strong form following recent bilateral series wins against Sri Lanka and Pakistan and will be aiming to use the continental event as a platform for ICC T20 World Cup in 2026.
Bangladesh are grouped together with Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. The team will start their campaign with the match against Hong Kong and will take on Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in the other group stage games.
The side has made it to Asia Cup final thrice in 2012, 2016 and 2018 and finished as runnerups. Apart from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan and Hong kong also revealed their squad with four teams yet to announce their squad.
