The Indian Cricket Team has been hit with another blow as Nitish Reddy has been ruled out for the first three T20Is against Australia due to a left quadriceps injury and neck spasms, which impacted his recovery and mobility.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the all-rounder was recovering from his left quadriceps injury sustained during the second ODI in Adelaide.
“Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out for the first three T20Is. The all-rounder, who was recovering from his left quadriceps injury sustained during the second ODI in Adelaide, complained of neck spasms, which have impacted his recovery and mobility,” said a BCCI statement.
The development brings a significant blow for India’s campaign as Nitish Reddy is one of the two fast-bowling all-rounder in the squad.
Nitish Reddy sustained left quadriceps injury during the second ODI between India and Australia played at Adelaide Oval.

The 22-year old produced a disappointing performance in the ODI series scoring 27 runs in two innings and failing to pick up a wicket in 5.1 overs.
Nitish Reddy made his ODI debut in the recently concluded three match series in Australia after having been picked in place of the injured Hardik Pandya.
India will be keen on all-rounder’s full recovery before returning to action. Considering a hectic schedule, his availability is much anticipated by the Indian board.
India went with two fast bowlers and picked three spinners along with medium pace-bowling all-rounder Shivam Dube.
India picked Harshit Rana and Jasprit Bumrah as their frontline spinners for the 1st T20I. The team management seems to have backed Rana for the second pacer’s role after the Delhi fast bowler shone in the ODI series, picking up a four-wicket haul in the series finale in Sydney on Sundary.
