Naveen-ul-Haq Dismissed Hardik Pandya on Golden Duck in LSG vs MI Clash

Mumbai Indians Captain Hardik Pandya was sent out on a golden duck by Naveen-ul-Haq right after the dismissal of Tilak Varma on a run out during the IPL 2024 match against Lucknow on April 30 at Ekana Sports City.

Hardik Pandya has been in poor form since the start of the 2024 season. His highest score is 46 runs which he scored during the match against Delhi Capitals on April 27.

With the dismissal of Hardik, MI lost four wickets scoring only 28 runs before the end of powerplay. Lucknow and Mumbai compete reaching the playoffs in the 2024 season.

As a result, both teams have eyed victory in the clash at Lucknow Stadium. But things didn’t go for Mumbai as planned as they struggled to score runs and keep wickets.

Mumbai has been suffering back-to-back defeats as they registered only three victories out of nine matches they played. The MI’s batting collapse came during the day when India’s T20 World Cup squad was announced.

Coming to the match, Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and opted to bowl. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan opened for Mumbai. During the second over of the innings, Mohsin Khan bagged the wicket of Rohit Sharma for four runs. Rohit tried to play straight, but the ball went to the Stoinis at cover.

Right after his dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav came to bat where he scored 10 runs before Stoinis bagged his wicket on the third over. It was a short ball in the legside and the ball bruised the gloves of the batter. KL Rahul attempted a dive and eventually succeeded in dismissing Yadav.

With Tilak Varma’s dismissal on a run out on the first ball of the sixth over, Hardik Pandya was sent back to the dugout on a golden duck by Naveen ul-Haq which completely put Mumbai Indians under pressure as they lost 4 wickets for 27 runs.

While Ishan Kishan continued to bat slowly and steadily, Nehal Wadhera joined the side to help the side to cross the 50-run mark in the 10th over.

He continued to bat till he scored 46 runs before being dismissed by Mohsin Khan while Tim David scored unbeaten 35 runs in 18 deliveries helping the side to score 144 runs in 20 overs.

With the target of 145 runs, KL Rahul and Arshin Kulkarni opened the side when the latter was sent out on a duck.  KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis continued to bat making a partnership score of 58 runs for the second wicket.

Hardik Pandya dismissed KL Rahul for 28 runs in a length delivery where Rahul swung hard to cross the boundary line. The ball went high and Mohammad Nabi succeeded in catching the ball in the line.

Marcus Stoinis smashed 62 runs on 45 deliveries with 7 fours and 2 sixes while Deepak Hooda scored 18 runs. With the dismissal of Stoinis and Hooda, Nicholas Pooran and Ashton Turner came to bat with the side scoring 116 runs by the end of the 15th over.

With Nicholas Pooran’s 14* runs, Lucknow Super Giants scored 145 runs in the last over and won the match by 4 wickets.
